Nottingham is seen as a prime alternative to Oxbridge, with outstanding facilities, cutting-edge research and
origins that go back to 1881. The original University Park campus has won many Green Flag awards for
excellent parkland, and the nearby Jubilee campus, with its futuristic buildings cluster around a
lake, houses the schools of management and finance, computer science and education. Nottingham has always
enjoyed good rankings, and is currently 18th Overall in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018

Nottingham is located in the East Midlands in the central part of the UK. It is easily accessible by rail and road from London – there is even a National bus service (FK230) direct to the University of Nottingham from London Heathrow Airport, so no need for you to worry about carrying baggage around railway stations when you first arrive in the UK; just hop on a bus at the Airport and come straight here! Nottingham is just 1 hour 45 minutes by train from London St Pancras station. Nottingham itself has a long history and is now one of the UK’s leading cities. Combining beautiful parkland and countryside, impressive traditional and modern architecture, along with cutting-edge learning and research facilities, the award-winning campuses are inspiring places to live, work and study.
There are Student Services Centres offering face-to-face administrative support and they can put you in contact with other teams across the University who can support your studies. The University Health Service offers healthcare, dental services, a pharmacy, doctors, physiotherapy and other specialist clinics. The University of Nottingham Students’ Union is one of the most active in the UK, with over 200 societies for you to choose from. Nottingham Lakeside Arts is the University’s public arts centre and museum, and it has become one of the region’s most exciting arts venues presenting exhibitions, drama, music and dance, special collections and archaeology. Sport facilities are superb, with a Sports Village, a swimming pool and three fully-equipped fitness suites.
All students are guaranteed University-arranged accommodation places if they apply before 1st August. There are six accommodation sites which are all well-placed for easy access to both the University campuses and the city centre. All accommodation has WiFi, fully-fitted kitchens and dining facilities. There are security teams on each site and a management team and a student committee that organizes events and activities at each site.
